Which sketch was your favorite?

I don’t know why but ever since Bill Hader left SNL and I think about all the Hader fans that I follow, I think of that one commercial he did a few years ago where it was about a security system and at the end of the commercial he bursts through the door and has this grin on his face.  I guess I figure that he’s gonna go and do that and surprise his fans late at night

So I was reading an old NY Times article from 2006 and found out this little SNL fact:  The 2005-06 season was the least watched season in SNL history with only 6 million viewers.  2004-05 season only pulled in 6.2 million viewers.

Aidy Bryant, Cecily Strong, Jay Pharaoh, Bobby Moynihan and Vanessa Bayer attend Rolling Stone hosts Bacardi Rebels (May 20, 2013)

classicajays:

So here it is everyone, the Steve Martin monologue that was a tribute to Gilda Radner.  She had died that afternoon, the same day as the season finale.  While Steve is presenting the “Dancing in the Dark” sketch (from the Steve Martin/Blues Brothers episode) he’s trying to hold back tears.  This was just an unforgettable SNL moment that crushes your heart when you watch it.

I’m bringing this back because today is May 20th.  On this day 24 years ago, we lost Gilda Radner.

Don’t let that headline fool you, this is a pretty good article that looks at the next season and how bright the future will be for the show.  I agree that Bobby has really stepped it up this year, I’m guess because Fred and Jason weren’t used as much and that gave him more of an opportunity to do a lot more things.  Cecily definitely was amazing this year too, I’m not sure many were expecting much from her but she was great.  I still say that Taran will become the top guy on the show next year. I’ve been saying that since his first season and I still believe it’s gonna happen.

Bobby Moynihands making magic yet again.
